(May 7, 2015) Last Thursday 16 street stocks piled into Lucas Oil Speedway where tire choice was the deciding factor.

In heat race #1 Andy Jackson showed he would be a strong contender on the night as he battled with Shane Jackson for the lead throughout the race. It was a battle of Jackson's but Andy bested Shane and went on for the win. In heat #2 Justin Gilmore stole the show in the last two laps as he overtook race long leader Brent Homan. Gilmore would go on for the win and move on to the dash.

In the dash both heat winners would duke it out for the lead but Andy Jackson was just a tad bit better and would grab the pole position for the A.

As mentioned earlier, tire choice turned out to be huge. It seemed half the cars went with medium compounds on the rear while the other half went with a harder compound. Justin Gilmore was the man of the night as he lead 21 of the 30 laps. Gilmore was challenged early from James Rotruck and even let him lead a few but it turned out both of these guys went with medium compounds. These tires almost lasted the entirety of the race but with a few turns to go both drivers blew tires ending their night. This opened the door for guys like Josh Smith, Andrew Engels, and Andy Jackson to get up there and contend. But coming out of the final corner it was a duel between Smith and Engels where Smith would nip Engels at the line and take home his second win in a row! Congrats to Josh and to Rodney Pierce on being the hard charger (16th to 9th).
