(June 25, 2015) Last Thursday night it was time to once again crown a track champion. But before we could do so we had go 30 action packed laps at Cedar Lake Speedway in the DWD Street Stocks. We had 18 guys show up to take their chance at the win with only a handful of these drivers having a shot at the track points championship. We randomly selected two heat races and it was time to hit the track.

Heat 1 saw Jason Bookman come from his 4th place starting position and roll his way to the front. Jason would go on for the win with Jim Goodson and Justin Gilmore following him across the finish line. Heat 2 once again saw a 4th place starter in Josh Smith make his way to the lead in a lap. Smith was head strong and consistently held off any charge that was thrown at him. He would capture the heat 2 win with Wes Fehrenbacher and John Williams rounding out the top 3.

Next we lined up a dash with the two heat race winners and the four highest in passing points. Jason Bookman picked the right number for the invert thus allowing a heads up start. This turned out to be good fortune for him as he wouldn't be denied in his way across the finish line first.

It was finally time for the main event and for the track basically being locked down to the bottom, it provided some great wheel to wheel racing. Justin Gilmore would get the jump on the initial start and take off into the lead with James Rotruck and Josh Smith making attempts to take over his spot. But Gilmore had his car glued down low and made any attempt by these two come up in failure. Gilmore would not be denied in his winning ways this night as he would go onto the victory at Cedar Lake Speedway! Congrats to Justin on the win and also to Blake Drohman (16th to 4th) and Andy Jackson (18th to 6th) on being this week's hard chargers.

After the race the points were calculated and it was determined that the month's track points championship belonged to Josh Smith as he edged out Jim Goodson by 2 points!
