(June 4, 2015) What a night we had last Thursday for the first race of the Cedar Lake Mega Series! We started the month off with the modifieds and like usual, they put on a show.

We started off with two heat races where in heat #1 Justin Remmers went from green to checkers in the lead and captured the victory. Heat #2 saw Wes Fehrenbacher and Keenen Golliet make a charge from the back of the heat to the front. Fehrenbacher got to the back bumper of Russell Snearly and made his move around him. Fehrenbacher would lead the last two laps en route to a victory.

It was then time for the B main and what a stacked B main it was as the current Late Model points leader Josh Smith and hot shoe Ken Short were among attendance for this race. Smith would lead the early portion of the race until Short would overtake him and go on for the victory but it was a battle to the end. Next up was the 4 lap sprint known as the dash. Another hard hitter James Rotruck would hold off Rodney Pearce for the victory.

It was then time for the 40 lap A main. Keenen Golliet would jump out to the early lead and take command of the first 13 laps of the race. This was when Rodney Pearce showed us what he had as he would overtake the lead using the high line of the race track which was a feat in itself. Pearce showed and backed up his talk from early on in the week as he found himself the top dog of the night as he took the checkers at Cedar lake speedway! Congrats to him and also to Jarod Remmers on being the night's hard charger (15th to 2nd).
